LUXE Travellers can treat themselves to a Pink Afternoon Tea in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month during October at the Shangri-La Hotel, At The Shard, London. Until October 31, a percentage of proceeds from each afternoon tea will go towards supporting breast cancer patients treated at Guy’s Cancer, the hotel’s charity partner.
In honor of the work that Guy’s Cancer does and the people they treat, Shangri-La At The Shard, London will serve the Pink Afternoon tea daily in TĪNG Lounge and Restaurant (on Level 35) and GŌNG Bar (on Level 52), each with views of iconic London landmarks. The tea includes a glass of pink Duval Leroy Rosé, Prestige Champagne or a Pink Champion cocktail made with gin, salted Peychaud, Champagne and strawberry wine. LUXE Travellers can also opt for the Pink October zero-proof cocktail featuring pear puree, cranberry juice, lemon juice and grenadine served over crushed ice.
Treats include: A blackberry tart, filled with blackberry mousse and decorated with pink geometric shapes, a breast cancer pink ribbon and silver leaf; a cherry mousse pastry, ball-shaped pastry that’s dusty pink in color and finished with a pink edible butterfly; and a raspberry Chantilly éclair, decorated with flowers.
Elements of a traditional British afternoon tea will also be included, such as a selection of finger sandwiches and freshly baked scones. The Pink Afternoon Tea is complemented by a variety of signature Shangri-La loose leaf teas, including the Beautiful Skin Tea with elderflower and hints of rose and China White Monkey, a light infusion with honey nuances.
